Is this Dhoni`s last year as captain?

MS Dhoni, the Indian cricket team captain faces a dilemma. If his team does not win matches this year, then there is a very good possiblity that this would be his last year. Why? Remember why Jimmy Amarnath was kicked out as one of the selectors? Jimmy wanted Dhoni to be replaced by Sehwag as the test captain.

Regional politics comes into play in this situation. Afterall Jimmy was from North India and has possibly the backing of Arun Jaitley,the Delhi Cricket Association head, to whom Sehwag is very close. Sehwag`s marriage was held at Arun Jaitley`s house in 2004. Jaitley will be taking over the BCCI chief next year from N. Srinivasan who is Dhoni`s godfather.

The only thing that can save Dhoni is an excellent performance or else he will be ex- captain cool!

    With today`s defeat at Mumbai by 10 wickets to England, Dhoni`s life becomes tougher. On a rank turner and with 3 spinners, India could not win let alone a draw. Blame can be put on the batsmen and the spinners but finally its Dhoni`s call.

    Dhoni is left with no options except throw out Tendulkar which is beyind him.
